Beach Baptism April 21st

In accord with Christ’s Great Commission—to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”New Walk will join together for a day of Beach Baptisms at 11am on Saturday, April 21st at Fort Desoto Beach.

Baptism is a crucial next step and act of obedience for any Christ follower, which is preceded by one’s acceptance of Jesus as Lord and the turning away from sin. With full submersion into the water, the believer is identified with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. And this further constitutes the believer’s public testimony—or the outward confession of an inward experience—proclaiming their identification with the Lord.

If you are ready to take this step in making a public declaration of your faith, or if you just want to witness and to celebrate life change with those gathered, join us for this incredible afternoon.

For directions to Fort Desoto from the YMCA click Here. There will be New Walk Church signs when you hit the Fort Desoto Beach area...Follow the New Walk signs to shelter #1 all the way at the end.  This is a long stretch of beach and you will want to find the area we will be in.  If you are driving from the Zephyrhills area, give your self an hour and 15 minutes at least to prepare to be there by 10:45am so you don't miss anything.  There is a toll of $1.00 when you get off the interstate and then another toll of $5 as you are entering Fort DeSoto Park.  This $5 fee is brand new and we were just made aware of it, so we encourage you to carpool if possible (you are welcome to use are church office as a central location to meet up with others).

After the baptism we will celebrate and have a "Pot Luck" picnic.  Please bring a dish to share with everyone.  New Walk will provide the paper goods and bottled water.  We will be done with our baptism and celebration around 1:30 pm.

You will need to wear shorts and a top (not white for women) during the baptism, you probably will want to bring a change of clothes, a towel, and a plastic bag for your wet clothes.

Please bring your friends and family with you to see this awesome moment in your life, we will have lunch following the baptisms.  Also, if there is a person that has been important to you in your life in finding your faith and you want them to be out there in the water with you during your baptism then that is great!  Let them know you want them there.  Parents, you are welcome to come out and take part with your children.

If you still have any questions about baptisms and what it means, you can call one of our team at 813-469-9299 to discuss it.  Also keep this number handy in case you get lost on the way.

  1. Hey New Walk family, watching all from up north in Michigan. So glad you have everything on line so I can keep in touch with all you there. Miss my group meeting on Saturday night at the YMCA. Still walking straight in Yeshua...by the Grace of God! If it were just me I would be a miserable failure that is for sure. If possible tell the group I really miss them...and will keep them in my prayers. New souls snatched from the grip of Satan getting baptized.....Glory to God! I will look in on Saturdays events from here. by Vivian
